The First Day

What a wonderful day. I cannot imagine a better opening to a school than what we experienced today at GTHS. The enthusiasm and energy in the building was incredible. I am excited to know that there are students in the building that are happy to be at school. This is an educator's dream; I hope I never wake up!!!!

I understand that all classes were probably very boring today. Believe it or not, the first day of school is just as boring for the teachers. I cannot think of one teacher that likes to go over rules and procedures for an entire period and then repeat it 4 more times. Tomorrow will be better as we will actually talk about other things. However, if you have any comments or questions about today, please feel free to ask them. I just ask that you remain respectful and courteous as many people will read this entry. It is very easy to get "caught up" in "text language". Happy reading and I will see you tomorrow!!!

  1. hi, i'm your anatomy student!
you know, when i was a kid i really really liked going over rules and the first day of school..
i don't really like it as much anymore, but i've been excited for that day until this year. since i'm a senior, i'm guessing that isn't too bad! i still get excited for classes and such, i guess have a little bit of the same additudes i think most elementary school kids have. optimistic about learning! i also really enjoy the days when we fill out our information on major tests and just bubble in our names and birthdates and genders and what not. i don't know why, it makes me excited!

i've always been kind of strange, i guess, but that is pretty apparent!

  2. You know, I always liked the first day, too, when I was in school. Of course, I really enjoy being a student; I could make a career out of it. I guess that is why I chose never to leave. :)

Glad someone is reading the blog.
